An immigrant success story, indelibly woven into the fabric of New Mexico history

Never-before-seen family photos, personal possessions, oral histories and reminiscences graphically narrate this first ever effort to document the story of the first openly practicing Jews who came to New Mexico in the nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries. As these new immigrants settled in the region and made it their home, their personal stories became interwoven with the history of the state. Their legacy is alive today throughout New Mexico and the greater West, where their descendants continue to carry their names.
