Carolyn Barford is an Ojo Caliente, NM-based painter who specializes in "storytelling" art, primarily painting scenes of classical New Mexican life (and afterlife). Carolyn graduated from the Hartford Art School. She later found herself living on a farm in New Mexico raising animals, where she began drawing and painting animal characters as if they were living her own life. Then, by popular demand, she created these Day of the Dead-style skeletons and set them in New Mexico scenery.
In addition to producing award-winning paintings that have hung in galleries throughout the Southwest, Carolyn takes her most popular watercolor pieces and personally embosses them onto tiles and mousepads in her studio.
